Void vs virtus

I've always wondered if void + deflector with the virtus top would be better then full virtus whilst casting the storm of armadyl. The bonuses of virtus would be 144 however void would give 84 magic attack + 30% accuracy bonus. The magic level is 99. I'm comparing in terms of magic, not defence.

i think u need all parts of the void set for its special to kick in so mind as well wear other mage gear like ahrims with a virtus top

 

The deflector counts as a piece of the void set. So you can replace the gloves, top or bottom with anything you want. While still getting the bonus of a full set with whatever helmet you're using.

 

As the guy above me stated the deflector replaces any void items except the helmet for any other item so i can replace the body with a virtus top whilst still gaining the void effect.

Or for melee I can replace the gloves with goliath for 13+ strength bonus whilst using the deflector which replaces the shield slot meaning I still retain the 15% attack and strength bonus.

 

Thats a really clever idea, imma try this soon.

I'd go with the Void, as I've been using Void plus the Deflector plus Ahrims top and it's not bad.

 

Void is much worse than ahrims.

Runescape combat works with dice rolls. If your attacker rolls higher than the defensive roll of the attacked, he hits. Otherwise, he misses.

Max attack roll (MAR):



Max defense roll (MDR):



These are then multiplied by 10 and floored.

The style variable can be filled with 3 for accurate or defensive styles, or 1 for controlled styles.

The void variable can be filled with 1.1 for melee and range and 1.3 for magic.

The prayer variable can be filled with the bonus listed in-game.

The turmoil variable can be filled with the total bonus (as listed in-game) minus 1.15.

Example: If the bonus is listed as 1.35 in-game, the prayer variable would be equal to 1.15 and the turmoil variable would be 20.

Paleas also found that max attack roll can be multiplied by the following, when applicable:

You can easily calculate that Void is worse than virtus unless you'd have like 200 magic attack (in void)

That said, void can still be decent (ranged defence, prayer bonus etc).

 

Since i couldn't affored virtus and I was only 264 quest points I tried using polypore staff and comparing void with grifolic. My tests showed that I was hitting more consistently with void + grifolic top then full grifolic. I can't really compare full virtus and void since I don't have the cash. I used mystic might and repotted with magic potion at 102 magic (My magic level was 98)
