Never watched it since I was at the theaters. That's pretty cool actually that he won, because he is pretty good and way better than those other mainstream rappers that are praised mostly all around us. Might check it out when it becomes available online see how it was with Tyler.
They really put on a show this year. Most of the performances were sick: Adele, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, etc. Happy to see Tyler take Best New Artist.
Adele was nice, beyonce's having a baby, lol. Was fun to watch. That song How to Love by Lil Wayne is good too.
But yea I only watched the VMA's to see Tyler win haha His speech was pretty funny too, considering every speech before that was "I WANNA THANK GOD AND JESUS!" (especially Justin Biebers...My god that was terrible to watch)
I was pretty astonished when Tyler the Creator won. He's definitely got what it takes, and he deserved every single bit of his fame.
Yeah same here only his part was really worth it at least. Look at him all happy and excited haha! ^_^ Man I bet being up on that stage you get some huge rush that can't exist anywhere else. I don't even wanna know how that kids speech went x.x
yeah i was pumped for tyler, his speech/celebration was funny as hell, and so was Lil Wayne's performance.
I turned it off when Justin Beiber beat eminem, was rigged by a bunch of little 12 year old girls. Turned back on to wayne to see him perform. sung how to love which not only do i hate that song, but he just HAD to have an autotuned mic... Other than that it's was good.
I was pumped when I saw Tyler win that. He deserves every bit of it. He's one of the best artists out there right now, and needs to keep it up. And I really hope he doesn't get caught up in mainstream like most people do. I hope he keeps it up for the love of the game and not the love of money. It was really sad to see Wiz go to mainstream, I will probably just stop listening to new music if OF goes mainstream. I don't think I could take it.
Agreed. Surely hope Tyler does keep doing what he loves and is good at. A couple of my favourite bands in the rock genre I looked up to went mainstream and ended up overflowing themselves with money and ending up overdosing on drugs. It does suck in the world out there since basically he is out there right now after winning this award. That kid beat Eminem? Wow...this was something I only thought was in a nightmare.
Yessss.. I know exactly what you mean. I understand it's hard, but just keep going for the game! I don't know (or can't even imagine) what it's like to be in the position of someone being offered huge amounts of money to turn over their career to someone who will autotune the shit out of them and make new lyrics for them etc..
