I have been pretty inactive in the Runescape / online trading market. I was curious to whether or not anyone uses venmo for online transactions. The reason I ask is because I use Venmo all the time for things in person and its extremely convenient in my opinion, as you can send funds instantly and only have to wait one day for the money in your venmo account to transfer to your bank account. So to anyone familiar with Venmo, what is your reasoning for/against using Venmo for online trades like RSGP or something. If anyone is familiar with people willing to sell OSRS gp using venmo it would be cool if you could point me in that direction as well.
I did a bit of looking around on their website. It seems like they want to discourage all types of transactions that involve people you don't already know well. They say that Venmo is a service for family and friends, and they don not want to encourage goods & services types of payments. https://help.venmo.com/customer/por...e-venmo-to-pay-someone-for-goods-or-services-
I mean I'm sure they would say because they want to create a good image for their company. However I'd say 75% of my venmo transactions have been for drugs or something illegal, so the family and friends motto is utter BS. I was looking for feedback from someone who has used Venmo before, more specifically for goods/services online and that could explain to me some pros / cons to why people do not use it here.
Don't you have to have a Facebook account linked to it that matches the bank account? Definitely a plus.
It does. It is one of the safest and most convenient ways to transfer money in my opinion. Hell I even used it to send my rent money this past semester. I'm curious to why it hasn't caught on for online markets
So you purchased Illegal Drugs with money sent from an online account that is attached to your facebook and bank account?
Indeed, and I have also used it to send thousands of dollars of my rent and utility bills money. I also know drug dealer friends who have used it for awhile without any issues. All transactions can be made private It is pretty clear that you lack any knowledge about Venmo, it would be nice if you provided something constructive to the original topic or stopped posting.
Bumping for more input, somewhat disappointing that this is an inactive forum section. Venmo is a promising and safe alternative in my opinion and would like to see what others have to say about it
