Veigar?

Thoughts on Veigar as a champ? He's my go to champ when i play mid and i'm kinda glad he's getting the attention now that scarra is spam playing him. He's unbelievably strong vs AP champs, not sure why many people don't play him.

What do you guys think of him?

 

Too squishy to be viable imo.

 

The reason why I don't play veigar is because he get countred by the most common mid champs like katarina, zed, diana and so on.

Bad early game, no escape abilitys.

 

He's kind of like Brand, good, but the mobility meta is what really hurts his presence right now.

 

I like his kit but I just feel it's only built for bursting out a single target. Afterwards you're pretty open to counter-attacks and are almost guaranteed to die. Still fun to play though.

 

Vieger is great you just have to farm your q i think it is and you're pretty OP Lg

 

Unless you're DaBox then there's better choices in the current meta

 

From What I've seen, hes fairly small but if you know how to use him, then its good because Im not good playing with champions with long range
Hes good for Farming though I guess and his move speed is good

General: Is a counter to some mids and team comps with an AP bruiser (or with too many AP in general.
Solo queue: You better not firstpick, he is good vs AP champs, but he is very bad against most non-AP champs. Also, early game, veigar can't outduel most adcs, which is a bad sign.
5v5: His huge stun is what makes him viable, if the teamcomp is not making a huge advantage of it, then he is outclassed. Is generally good for aoe CC team comps, and maybe he could work as a cataclysm replacement in a cataclysm team comp (Rammus, fiddles, kayle, annie,ammumu, ziggs). Other than that, he is just a counter.

 

He's fine against heavy AD teams. People put too much emphasis on his ult's scaling with enemy AP.

He can still 1 shot most character when he has 6 items, regardless of whether they have AP or not.

 

I know this is completely random, but from personal experience fizz E/zhonya's can completely negate a veigar ult :O

 

Wouldn't ever blind pick veigar, useless really, infact wouldn't play veigar into most things... If I see them pick veigar I just assume I have a free lane, especially when my main mids are morde / ryze lol...

Really wouldn't play it outside of normals or bronze for lols...

incredibly squishy, no real escape, if you wanna 100 - 0 somebody just play LB or Zed or something, there champs that do exactly what veigar does but better, literally no reason for him to see play really lol.

You can get denied cs in lane, unfarmed veigar is useless, doesn't exactly snowball very hard, prone to well played ganks, can't get to back lines to melt ADC without being insta melted him self.

Just play somebody like lb who can 100-0, get into back lines, melt somebody, get back OUT the back lines and away to safety until her rotation is back up, incredibly snowbally and her move set and escapes leave a lot of room to outplay your opponent.

 

2.5 second AOE stun and his ult is all he's good for

 

His laning phase is too weak Austin. If it's high level play, he will be focus ganked throughout the entirety of the early game. Once he uses his stun in lane, he's dead (vs good players).

The current meta and current mid champs are just far more viable based on risk and reward.

 

I guess. I just found him so strong & fun to play later in the game when you could 1 shot their mid with dfg and ult.

He isn't a bad champ. But in comparison to other champs that fit into the current meta, he is outclassed. He's still fun/good.

E: doesn't mean you cant play him in ranked. There are people in challenger who only play single champs in all roles, regardless. I.e, there is a challenger player on OCE, who ONLY plays Master Yi in all roles. Yi isn't a good champ in that scenario, but he makes it work. Comes down to mechanics/skill ultimately.
