Vegetarians? Why?

Well. I am a vegetarian. However, I'm not a vegetarian because the way animals are treated and what not (even though I don't agree with it). I've just grown up not liking it, and that's been a good enough reason for me not to eat it. I've just been used to getting my protein and other benefits of meat from other foods. So to sum it up, no I'm not a animal rights activist because I'm a vegetarian (common misconception I guess..)

 

It is natural for us human beings to eat other animals, all other animals do it, why can't we?

1) It tastes delicious.
2) Most of it is healthy and full of necessary minerals.

If you have some problem with eating animals, well that's your problem, you can do as you wish as long as it doesn't harm me in anyway.

 

I do not think that me being vegetarian would change anything. Plus i hardly eat any vegetables at all , so if i quit eating meat i'd get pretty diseased :S

 

It'd change whether you eat meat, or not.

No one is saying you can't. Most of it is unhealthy. Red-meat, for example. It harms the body, even though it tastes good. With the additional hormones that distributors are putting in their meat, it'd be a lot healthier to eat vegetables, or just go out and kill for the meat, yourself. However, that could also bring about a lot of health issues.

 

I knew that Arya, when I said that I'm a non-vegetarian that doesn't mean I eat EVERYTHING non-vegetarian.

Oh and I still eat vegetables, I try to maintain a balanced diet.

 

Humans are omnivores, so why should'nt we take advantage of the situation?(Then again, vegatarians eat eggs anyways...kind of beats the point of going veg.)

Egg is not meat. There is a different between a vegetarian and a vegan.

Yeah taking a chicken's eggs is like doing an abortion, not saying that I am a vegetarian, but if they're really worried about ethics and mistreatment of animals, they shouldn't eat eggs.


However I don't agree with the statement that if you don't eat meat, it's not going to change anything. The same goes for voting, if you personally don't vote, it's not going to change anything, but you should because it's a COLLECTIVE issue rather than a SINGULAR issue.

 

If you go buy an egg from the store, and keep it for a certain amount of time, will it hatch into a baby chicken?

Who ever said that it wouldn't change anything? Generally, meat-eaters are more weighty than vegetarians/vegans. That's certainly a change.

 

If I go and buy a steak from the butcher, and keep it for an amount of time, will it spawn in to a new cow or will it go off and begin to smell?

If you don't buy it or eat it, its just a waste anyway. I fail to see the logic here.

 

I am vegetarianish. Ill eat burgers, and other common meat, and ill eat fish because they do not have feeling or souls. I think its very possible that cows and chickens have souls or spirits of some kind, so I will order a fish taco over a burger now and then. I avoid eating meat simply because we do not really have to in many countries. But some times i get a steak

What makes you think that foul and bison have souls, but fish do not?

 

Lol, you've just proven my point? Your first sentence was basically my first sentence, proving that eating eggs isn't like abortion to Straggler.

 

My point is, eggs go off with time, and so does meat.

If you don't eat it, its just an unnecessary waste.
