It's silver unfortunately. I have a regular that I've been using so I'll use up the coils I do have. I did however end up with an extra as a friend gave me it.

I've gotten to the point where vaping is only costing about ~$20 a month.

I DIY my own e-liquid in bulk. It only is costing me a few cents a ML to make.

I'm satisfied with my mod/batteries/tank so I haven't upgraded anything in months.

Only thing I buy is TFV4 clapton coils. You can get them $15-20 for 5. Each coil lasts me a week.

 

Im using www.zamplebox.com subscription and using Triforce Subohm Tank and DOVPO Champion 220W mod.
But i would like to start with dripping, does anyone know where i could buy a ''RDA'' kit? the bigger the better

 

I'm in the same exact boat. All I buy are coils. I'm happy with my tfv4/sigelei combo, and I mix my own juice.

 

Ya, I feel the same. At first I was spending a lot because I kept upgrading, but over the past several months, I've been using my Eleaf iStick 50W and my Aspire Triton Mini Tank, and all I buy now are coils and liquid. Compared to $7+ per day when I used to smoke, vaping is definitely cheaper!

My local shop had a "Coils for advocacy" event this past weekend. All proceeds when towards a foundation that advocates for smoke free alternatives. Overall was a great event and it was insane watching 5-10 guys whipping up some insane builds. I went ahead and bought a few coils while I was there since it went to a great cause and I couldn't wrap a clapton if I really wanted to - it really is a skilled trade and something that takes hours to master. For $10 I picked up a great set of claptons, and for another $5 I got a raffle ticket for a goodie box and had them throw the coil in my atty (I figured why not? I'm lazy and it really does go to a good cause.)

Only thing is, I can't really get it to taste right. It's clocking in at .12 ohms and I for the life of me can't get a nice, full, flavorful hit. I have a 200w regulated mod and I've tried anywhere from 65-125 watts and I just can't get it to taste right. It's not burning the cotton, but that's what it's tasting like. I don't know if the cotton is a bit too dense and is struggling to wick the juice from the well to the coils, if the ramp up power is messing with it (I vape at 100W, tastes fine as ramping up, but when it hits 100W it tastes burnt), or of the juice is "burning" (can that even happen? It's a 84/16 VG juice and I've run it at much higher wattages without problems before).

I should have worked this all out while I was there, I just didn't have my juice on me while I was there, so when I was testing out the coil initially I just dripped a bit of someone else's juice since I didn't want to buy a $20 30ml juice from the shop when I had ~100ml back at home. Are any of you guys familiar with claptons / ramp up time / wattages? At this point, my simple 7 wrap of 24 gauge kanthal was a better build and I know that shouldn't be happening.


Edit - NVM I'm stupid. The middle post was only making contact with one of the coils, causing one leg to just light up while the rest of the coil was ice-cold. Was tucked underneath all of the cotton so I couldn't really initially see it.

The pens are only really good as starters imo. I've been using a box mod for a couple years now and would never even consider going back to a pen.

 

Each to their own man. I know pens give a better mouth -> lung hit but honestly if you know what you're doing you can have a similar build on a box mod with better results.

The beauty with this though is that if it works for you, then it's right.

Currently vaping on a gold Sigelei 213 with a Goon RDA. Favorite juice is dragonfruit-pineapple, good stuff. I'm kind of upset atm though, I heard the Sigelei 213 has a bad temp control issue, where the temperature will actually go far past what you have it set at, which is a huge problem for people who use it. I rarely use temp control but it still sucks to know something's messed up with your device.

 

mods are the way to go i have a sigelei 150 tc and a uwell take also have drippers but i think that brand is the best in the world

I feel it man. I used to have an older Smok device that "had temperature control" and it didn't work whatsoever. Eventually I did buy a mod with excellent temperature control on it and honestly didn't really like it compared to wattage mode. I felt like even though I could adjust the exact temperature, I had more control in wattage mode. I wouldn't worry too much about it man, you have a solid durable device, I wouldn't fret too much if your temp control was a bit off.

 

Agreed with toast. Sigelei mods are tanks. I had an old 150 (non-tc) that lasted me a couple years before it met it's untimely demise via a fit of rage, followed by a few seconds of airtime and ultimately meeting a solid object. Even then if I wanted to take the time, I could have repaired it by soldering the wires back in place, but I just bought a new one instead.
