Useless solomon updates

I'm kind of tired of the retarded updates regarding the solomons general store. This week is the Skill-Fu. I really don't see the reason to buy skill animations as that doesn't help xp wise or anything. A lot of things in the shop are a bit useless. The emotes are cool and all, but next thing you know, someone is trying to imitate the headstand and breaks their necks. Just saying lol

Opinions on the store?

 

I enjoy these upgdates. They add a little spice to the game.

I'm not arguing that buying runecoins is a waste of money, I'm saying that, if the emotes could be obtained for free (via questing/events) they would be really cool.

And anyone who imitates the headstand or something, and breaks his neck, can only blame himself.

It's just another ploy for Jagex to make more money, some of them are alright, but luckily none of them give any real advantage. If they did, then the game is going to just turn into some big money war over who can afford to buy the "newest and baddest" whatever.

Pfft, before you know it, there's going to be websites were people just sit around and buy huge quantities of gold for Runescape, how unfair!

I don't have a problem with the store. If Jagex was making game changing updates (e.g EoC) it would be a lot more controversial than an optional add-on store which has no effect on the game, other than providing jagex with money for future updates.

 

headstand is so lame lol. I saw a f2p clan all headstanding in pk lmao and they were owning too lol.

 

In my opinion, I think Jagex is just desperate for money. They are adding in so many things (Squeal of Fortune, Solomon's store) just for money.

 

I don't mind Solomon Store since all the stuff are only for cosmetics. only idiots would waste their irl cash on it anyway

 

I have a feeling you would be someone who cant be pleased either way, your complaining about non xp benefitting things being sold, but if they DID affect xp rates you would probably bitch because people could buy more sucess in game .. (which would not be fair what so ever) the fact is solomons store and SoF are here to stay and we dont need this plethora of clone threads pertaining to them.

 

I'd rather have them make real updates.

Also I pay (two) membership, why shouldn't I be able to access everything in game without spending more money? Ridiculous.

 

I don't mind it either, but I don't expect only the solomons store to get updated weekly. Not really something everyone can buy.

 

Would you rather have an update that does nothing to the game or a "useless" update that ends up tipping the economy sideways for a few days?

Meh, the stores OKAY.

I mean it's really not worth putting your hard earned cash into it, but I got the tropical items for free and they seem decent =)

Regardless of that I don't like how I have to pay a monthly fee and still not have access to everything.

 

Jagex is a company pure and simple. EVERY COMPANY'S GOAL IS TO MAKE MONEY. If they are able to put in these updates that do not affect the game or economy in any way besides make the outfits a little more interesting to look at while playing then who are we to complain? Without Jagex making money there would be no Runescape. Compare some games that have more than an 8 dollar a month price tag AND require you to purchase a cd as well. Runescape is a great game that continues to bring quality updates as frequently as possible and they are able to do this through increased profits which turn into increased hiring as well. Be thankful that they have this so that this game can be enjoyed for several years to come.

These updates and the store in general is to just make your character stand out a bit more and to just change it up a little bit. You don't have to buy the items if you don't want to.

What I am tired of more than them making updates like this, are people complaining about everything they do.

 

I don't have any problem with the store, it doesn't get in the way of anyone actually playing and its cool for people who want stuff like that on their accounts.

They are both companies, trying to make some money off of you.

I say, get over it, most companies have this sort of thing, you can pay membership to get the basic things, but for the exclusives, the company wants more.

 

Jagex are going the wrong way with Soloman and SoF imo. Most of the updates they release each month is seemingly centered on Soloman and Sof now. Instead of the 1 quest a month, and so on, that used to be in the monthly updates.

I understand why people are angry at Jagex, I wouldn't want to pay a subscription fee and then receive bags of SoF and Soloman updates, which i need to pay further for. It's poor value for money.

Jagex already ruined RS a long time ago, now they are just trying to get as much money as they can.

 

Exclusives? There's a sof or solomon related update ever one or two weeks. I get spammed by popups to buy it.
