Update of ruling.

In the rules, it states the following:

This rule hasn't really been enforced? unless this is out of date, I suggest it should be changed or greater consistency of action is to be taken.

 

I'd like to see it enforced, but then again we would be making a guy pay for a scam he never, and you cant always prevent your account from being hacked.

 

I'd like to see the rule altered to better suit the current scenario of mass Skype hackings..

 

Definitely wouldnt want the Skype part enforced, only the Sythe accounts. Skype scams can be prevented with a simple pm...Sythe account hackings, not really much you can do...And Skype hackings are too easy honestly.

 

This is usually handled on a case by case basis. Because you can't tell someone who scammed $100 2 years ago to find a banned user or something. Ya know.

 

This has been overlooked as of late due to the flaw in skype's security. There's nothing we can do about skype accounts being hacked, and we feel holding the owner of the account responsible for something COMPLETELY out of their control is unfair. We investigate every hacking claim to ensure it's not fake, and on any cases we find that the user's falsely claiming to be hacked in order to scam, they're dealt with accordingly.

 

The rule has been slightly modified for the time being right now due to the skype hackings. I am not sure if it is going to become permanent right now it is just having to request a pm in order to make sure no one fakes it.

 

Oh, I understand what you're saying now . From my perspective, the rule is still in place and is still being enforced, we're just requiring additional proof with regards to skype accounts; n4n0's post thoroughly details the current situation regarding Skype.

To clarify, requiring proof of identity verification is not a change to that rule, and we have always required proof of a scam before any consideration of refund.
