well maybe jagex's way of detecting when to give randoms was triggered by something all the people were doing... its more than likely a pserver though

 

Private server, looked up a few of their names weren't on highscores.

 

this is real, this happened once on runescape. I remember watching a df war in f2p looting rune and all of a sudden everyone got randoms, lots of people died because they couldn't click their randoms.

This has happened widespread a long time ago due to a glitch. It's not really THAT impossible if something isn't working correctly, such as the randoms appearance rate.
