if it goes on fire you will die

Why is it on the floor? At the very least, get some sort of stand for it.

And no, it isn't dangerous, but it's quite stupid. Get some plastic bucket, put your computer in it, and get a fan or something (if you don't have one) for it.

Like, a tub to hold your whole computer. I am assuming that you have no casing for your computer from your first post but I seem to have misunderstood something.

I do not really need to know what country you live in.... but thank you for the information ?

A tub is a plastic form of a bucket, generally large, meant to hold large objects or water.

If you still do not know what a tub is, I have attached a visual aid to help you.

If you still have your computer case, then the above type of fan is what you should purchase.

If you do not have your computer in a case, then you should seek the above fan.

    .....

    You don't need tech support...

You need an idiots guide to computers. :p.

Your computer is not being properly cared for if it is not on a solid surface, it is not kept at a room temperature, and if it is kept clean of dust, and dirt.

To properly care for your computer, it is recommended that you purchase a fan which will cool the computer down, a tub so it sits in a solid compartment, and qtips with rubbing alcohol to keep it clean.

Then you should by a tower, which is called a computer case, which is a plastic casing in which all of your hardware, which is everything you computer is made of, sits in side of and is kept in the manner it should be kept. Towers come with fans, hard surfaces, and generally keep most dust out of them through a ventilation system...

    If you need more help...

This is what a generic computer case looks like. Does yours have one?

If it does not, then you will need to refer to the instructions pertaining to the "tub."

If it does, then I do not really see the problem in the first place.

If it's in a case, you're fine. Now if it's the hard drive itself, It could possibly get fried due to static from the rug. If it's the same as when you bought it then no worries.

Unless you're overclocking your computer, or customizing it yourself, you should have the case. I would suggest sitting it on a coffee table for the moment, just to protect the bottom of the casing.

If the carpet is a thick, long-haired carpet, it can cause your computer to overheat because not enough air is circulating through. It happens to laptops as well. A thin rug is alright, such as office stuff. A shag rug should be replaced, especially if your computer is on floor. :)
