Transparent avatars?

I'm trying to upload an avatar, but even though I save it in photoshop as a .png with no background behind it, a white background still appears.

I'm seeing others with transparent backgrounds, and I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong. :/

 

Link the avatar you want here or PM it to me, I've managed to do it in the past.

 

If I understand your issue correctly, you need to copy the color of Sythe's background with the appropriate tool and color your background of your Avatar with it. Then, you can upload it as your Avatar.

 

I'm going to try this. Thanks, I wasn't thinking at the time and it seems logical.

 

Though I havent used photoshop in ages, and always sucked at it, there should be an option to make a layer transparent.
