Time?

I just wondered with all you people on sythe forums half of you know everything, so i woundered will it ever be possible to stop or even go back in time? Id just like to hear some of your theory's.....

here is my theory: no.

time is not controlled by humans, only by the earth's orbit and its spinning on the access. all we can do is simply measure time, via a clock

what about instines theory of traveling so fast you will go back ion time... Thats the only theory i ever here and just wanted to here of anymore

 

maybe if you gave me the proper name of this theory(HINT HINT: part of einstein's general relativity theory), it would have been much nicer than to you require me to think about the last time i read about it

I actually started the thread on asking for other peoples theories not to talk about einsteins. And i know that isn't einsteins exact theory but that pretty much sums it up >>

Time is just a man made measurment like centimeteres and inches.
There is absolutly no way, nor will the ever, to go back in time.

 

yes but unlike cm and inches times moves; it can be stopped or you can move in it?

 

Time is constant, it is always the same and will never be possible to break through. You can't travel through the time in any way. It's impossible.

Theories say that if you travel the speed of light, (299 792 458 meters per second) time stops. If you go faster than that you start going backwards in time. A GREAT program to watch is "Imagining the Ten Dimensions" just google it and watch it. It's about ten minutes long but You'll really learn alot from it. It's about how we actually live in a world of ten dimensions, not three like most people think. Once he reaches the fifth dimension, it gets really hard to understand. Give it a go though, most definatly.

Maybe if you spin fast enough, you could tear a hole in the Atmosphere, and ultimately, the "timeline". Of course, if you were spinning that fast, your would shred yourself to bits. So, you can't travel back in time.

No, time cannot be "Stopped" or halted. I just don't ever see it happening.

 

Its impossible. Time is something that humans created a definition and a theoretical way of measuring it. They measure time by the "time" it takes to orbit the earth.
We age the same no matter how fast or slow time is going. If your on Pluto your age would be way different from here yet you would age the same things would run out in the same amount of time and everything. So I think light just reflects everything so you could see into the past but not actually alter it or touch it, also there would be no way of going forward.

 

yes i think it is possible, time was invented by Man-kind, but ofcoarse everything is open opionion if u believe it or not.

 

I don't see how time could be invented. We only invented a system to measure time, not time itself.

 

time is a conspiracy, you never know, someone might have gone back in "time", like i said, its all about your views on everything.

 

Tru to some extent ... but dusnt einstein state tht nuthing can go faster than light? so therefore impossible to stop "time"

also you never know like honestly think of it this way go back to medieval ages and see how many people would say that the world is round and tht we revolve around the sun to be honest the so called "facts" we know today dont even have to be true a TON of stuff in science is based on theories like look at the history of different types of theories for atoms its basically some guy saying somehing and other people agreeing because it seems logical so anything that is a theory does not have to be true AT ALL ... just sumthing to think about

 

We didn't invent time, it's always been here, we just use seconds, days, years as our measuring tools for it and yes there are theorys in which time travel is possible and obey all the laws of physic, but since we do not possess the technology to go through with these, we cannot 'manipulate' time

 

No. Matter can only be created, not destroyed. If someone could go back in time, that would just create more matter. Thats way too much matter.

Also, don't think I just made that up, my Astronomy teacher talked about it.
