    Wuz Guddie? ;)

From 50 Smithing to 99, approximately how much would it cost to super-heat gold ore with gold gaunts? Or would be steel bars be more efficient?

Also, by achieving 99 Smithing via Superheating gold ore, would that get me to 99 Magic too (or close) from 65?

    Any other advice is appreciated~

    Thanks bros.

230,127 Is the required amount of Gold Ore in order for you to achieve 99 smithing via super heating.

230,127 Is the required amount of Nature Runes in order for you to achieve 99 smithing via super heating.

237,453 Is the required amount of Super Heats in order for you to achieve 99 magic via super heating.

Therefore 230,127 x Gold Ore Price + 230,127 x Nature Rune Price = Amount spent in order to gain 99 smithing and 98 magic.

    Hope that helped.

    (230127 * Gold Ore Price) + (230127 * Nats Price) - (230127 * Gold Bar Price) = Ammount lost.

Which would mean around a 60M or so loss for you.

Wow, so basically it's not such a good idea with how much money I'll be losing?

Is there a more efficient way to 99 Smithing where you don't lose as much money? Cost is not a problem.

If cost isn't a problem, why don't you just use that method?

He's asking if there is a quicker way that isn't as expensive.

Cheaper is 65k/h doing gold bars in a furnace [neit/edge].
    It'll be 65k xp/h instead of 120-140k xp/h of superheating though.

I believe anything gold related is the cheapest way to go unless you have millions to blow on Steel/Mith/Addy Plates.

What about Superheating Steel bars? I've heard there is some profit from this.

Sometimes there is, it all depends on the market.

From memory steel bars currently sell for 1000, - 600 in Coal, 200 in Iron, and 160 in Nature Runes, you could possibly see a profit of 40gp per bar.
However just remember its all market dependent. If you superheat steel bars to 99, then you'll definitely reach 99 mage however you'll spend twice or even 3x as long getting there.

Right, I guess the gamble is Time vs. Cost.
Do you know the most efficient way to 99 Smithing? Anyone with experience is appreciated. (sorry if this is getting dragged on, im just really curious)

i am currently smithing gold with gold smithing gloves for 2x smithing xp i am getting 115k smithing xp a hour :) i think thats your best bet :)

and a 60m loss is not bad any other way without superheating

example steel is the most efficient way to train smithing outside of superheating

steal plate bodys to 99 = over 250m loss

dont forget, that 60m is buying you 2 99s, Smithing & Magic. so try look at it like their 30m each, but its a package deal. its fast exp in both skills to, personally if i had a relatively valid reason to justify wanting/needing them 99s, sounds worth it to me.

That's true, that's also a good way of looking at it.

You could bot it, but remember no 99 skill is easy to get. It's going to take time.
