The Bible Wrong?

Western Christian biblical references "Psalm 93:1", "Psalm 96:10", and "1 Chronicles 16:30" include text stating that "the world is firmly established, it cannot be moved." In the same tradition, "Psalm 104:5" says, "[the LORD] set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved." Further, "Ecclesiastes 1:5" states that "And the sun rises and sets and returns to its place, etc."[59]

Obviously in this modern day we now know that the earth moves. Now this makes the bible wrong in these parts. Now obviously the bible has been translated from language to language, so there is a chance that it has been a translation problem. However, if this is wrong then what guarntees are there that some other passages aren't wrong. Now i believe in what Galileo said "The bible is right as long as you look at the basic story and not pick out specif sentences." I want to here about what you think of the bible and other religious ideas.

The reality you believe in is based on theories.

Alot of stuff in the bible is real, but through out history it has bin changed and edited many many times.

The bible as you know it though is filled with mistakes that not even christian priests and schoolars can explain.

Go to youtube and type dr.zakir naik, he had a debate with a christian doctor, schoolar and priest in the U.S. in front of hundreds of people. Watch all clips related to the debate, it is really interesting, and I promise you that you will be impressed. Dr. cambell which is the name of the christian schoolar points out mistakes in the quran of which dr. zakir has to answer and respond to, and dr.zakir points out mistakes in the bible, the audience is also included in the debate.

That's like saying cats have 9 lives. Everyone knows cats have 1 life but it's because cats don't die that easy that people say 9lives.

Now, The_Ace. The Bible is a book that is open to interpretation. It could have meant something else, or simply be incorrect because it was some tool who wrote the book, not God himself. It may be "The word of God" in terms of taking concepts and events and putting them together in the book. It doesn't literally mean that Ecclesiastes sat there with God and ran a tape recorder, and then wrote what he said.

The more of the bible you read the more you will find that it contradicts itself. If you choose to believe in the bible, you must interpret it VERY loosely.

 

You left out a bit, though. God / Jesus did not write the people. Other important people wrote it according to what they heard. And, it might be like the world cannot be thrown into chaos by saying it cannot move.

 

The bible used to be the words of god, but it is a fact that people in ancient times edited it, and it is from there that the bible has its errors and contradictions.

 

Aren't most of the parts of the bible written 300 years after the death of Jesus?

 

Humans made the bible, this is why it's unreliable.
