Swapping Names

Account A: Very rare name, shit stats, very old account.

Account B: Very shit name, great stats.

How can I give account B, account A's rare name? Some have told me that I simply change Account A's name to something else, then quickly changing Account B's name and it will work, but I'm not so sure.

See, isn't the name held for 28 days? Or up to 35? It's really confusing to understand when Account A's name is up for grabs. I really don't want anyone else getting their hands on the name, and I want to know exactly when I can swap and whether it'll be relatively certain that I'll be the one to claim it.

Do any of you know?

 

Well if you change your good accounts name after 35 days it will be avail for everyone, so just not the time you changed it and be online in 35 days exact it will be avail

 

I'm also confused,

I have a rare name on a level 3 account not out of tutorial island and I have my main which also has a semirare name.

I want to just switch the two because I want my main to have the rarer name.
I'm just worried as if it doesn't work someone else will get it :<

You have to change Account A's name to something else, wait until you can change it again, then you change it.
As soon as you change it for the second time, you quickly set it onto Account B.

 

When you change account A's name to something else, no one can change to account A's original name until the 'last known as...' sign has disappeared from account A. It's hard to know when the last known as sign will disappear as the longer you've had your original name for, the longer the last know as sign will stay. Some of my friend's last known as sign disappeared after 1 and a half months but another friend of mine has had the sign for atleast 3 months now. It's very risky swapping names as you won't be 100% sure when the last known as sign will disappear so if you're offline and it disappears, some random could take it just like that.

 

In the end the risk comes down to how rare the name is, meaning, how many people would check to see if it's free per day? If it's something godlike... Then I think the risk is a little too great.

The easiest way to do it is to switch the name of the rare, and then quickly switch the one that you want the name on >_> idfk

Yes, me and Ashchaos were basically saying the same thing, but...
You don't have to wait until the 'Last known as...' disappears. You just change it twice, so your name will be completely off the account.

EG.

Name 'Worship' >
Change to 'Lala13214' >
Has 'Worship' as Last Known As >
Wait until you can change the name AGAIN >
Change it so the last known as will be 'Lala13214' >
Then you can set 'Worship' on your other account.

And to the Idiot who said you can't change it to someones original name. That's BS, you can change it to someones Original name.. As long as there current name isn't their original name, or their 'Last known as...' isn't their original name.

 

So if that's true, there wouldn't be any risk at all, would there? I'd just change it the second time and immediately change it on my good account, right?

It seems logical that there would be some kind of delay. It may be worth trying it on 2 different accounts first?

 

I'm sure that Ashchaos is correct. He also answered my question that I had asked a long time.I too did change a rare name, and its been almost three months and the name is still unavailable to me, but it is available to my rare name account. Also, in the runescape wikia, it says that the longer you have your runescape name, the longer it is available for other players.

 

Say account 1 is called A
Say account 2 is called B

Change account 1 from A to C
Change account 2 from B to D

Wait 35 days, and then
Change account 1 from C to B
Change account 2 from D to A

Once you change the name on an account, you can't change it for another 28 days. However, the name the account originally had won't be available (to anyone else but you) for another 7 days, unless you change the name again to something else within those 7 days.


EDIT: The "Last known as..." sign disappears when someone takes the name that the account was previously known as.
