[Suggestion] Clarify this rule.

Referrals: posting referral links for sites, surveys, other games, etc. This includes sites such as Share-cash.

I was browsing around sythe and saw a referral link to linkbucks in somebody's signature. I had remembered seeing a rule about these types of links, but just as any person in doubt would do, I went to the rules. In the rules is states POST but it does not clarify whether or not they are allowed in signatures. In the rules there is also a signature rules section, nowhere in the rules does it say that you are not allowed to have a referral link in your sig. But then again, the forum rules seep into the signature rules. For example, If i am begging for money (against the rules) in my signature, even though it does not state I can't beg in the signature rules section, I would most likely recieve an infraction anyway. I wanted to make sure I was clear on the rule, so I asked a market mod, he had no clue whether or not it was allowed in the sig or not, all he said was that "post" most likely means in threads. But he was not sure. I then asked another mod, same response.
Obviously this rule is not clear. If mods are confused, then the average Sythe user will be confused. And rather than every sythe user hunting down and admin to see if these links in sigs are allowed. We could just edit the rule a bit to make it clearer for the community.

EDIT: It has been verified that referral links ARE indeed allowed in sigs. The suggestion of clarifying the rule so that members do not get confused still stands.

To clarify here - Referral links/sites ARE allowed in signatures, provided they're not malicious or anything, but you still can't post them and such. Admitted it doesn't say it in the rules with the signature part, maybe someone edit/merge it in? It's not a huge deal, though.

 

Yeah they're allowed in your signature. IMO the rule is clear enough: don't post referral links

 

But like I said. The no begging rule seems pretty straight forward, but begging is not allowed in signatures. So if it referral links ARE allowed in sigs, we should clairfy it. This would prevent ANY controversy over this rule. If mods are confused then it needs to be clarified. Plus, adding (This rule does not apply to signatures) at the end is not harmful at all and helps us members who like to report spammers or rule breakers often.

 

Yeah it is an easy enough fix. I'll support this

 

Surely it's not hard to take one extra step to prevent anyone from using this as an excuse!

@video and yaroow - Thanks for the support. Once again, better be safe than sorry. And the suggestion only requires minimal effort from an Admin while at the same time can prevent many things from happening in the future.
