Strength affecting range..

Please help me convince my friend that having a higher strength level DOES NOT effect how much you'll hit with range..

Example: 50 str and 50 range will hit higher with range than 1 str 50 range.

If I am wrong, however, this is just embarrasing.

 

You're right, but just let him be wrong. There's nothing to win from being right. The only thing that affects ranged damage is your ranged level and the type of ammunition you are using.
