Steam section - poor moderation

The steam section of this site has extremely poor moderation and as backed up by the thread by 'sengira'. There is alot of threads in the section that violate the TOS (sticky on section) that have been around for a long-time and nothing has been done to enforce the rules. There ought to be more mods or the mods in the section that are actually active.

Long story short, we need mods in the steam section that are more interested in patrolling the section than selling Half-Life accounts (sorry xeleration)

 

Report the threads. We really get almost NO reports from there.

 

That's probably because most people who "Do business" in the steam section are pretty shady. We should assign some Mods or something to it just for a bit to clean it up.

 

There are a lot of ban evaders in their and the section is much cleaner then it was 1 month ago.

 

Yes firez I agree with you, not trying to give you a hard time. I'll just do my part to try and report when I find a evader/Scammer. It would just be alot easier to have some people who could actively keep it clean (Provide 99% smooth trades). Just an Idea but I understand Staff is already busy enough.

 

What does a key scan look like, I need an example.

another thing to bear-inmind is the use of 'Steam unverifiers'

A scammer asks to see the account, the buyer thinks to himself 'its ok, i have a confirmed email and secret question' scamming goes onto the account runs the 'unverifier' which hacks into steam and changes the email to his own one, ultimately changing the password.

I had this happen to me once, however i thought the guy was shady quickly logged back on and realized my steam account was unverified... shocked.

One more thing to keep inmind, every steam account that has games on it is recovererable. I lost my account to a scammer (again) [last mistake ], emailed valve supported, provided payment details to a game that i had and the account was within a few days back within my possession. Alot easier than runescape and world of warcraft recoveries.
