Pic may or may not be related I am here to talk about how the staff do not follow a certain code. I have noticed that people are making exceptions to leaving fellow members unbanned even when they know for a fact it's them posting. Atomic has been let go several times until the honest mods who actually do mess around get to them. I have also noticed that many of you do not do very much on the forum. You only lock a few threads while you're browsing the forum. What I'm saying is, a lot of you don't mod Sythe, you just chillax up in here while your new mods or something do them. The Report a Spammer has several mods who can do work on it but I only see feedback's and actual reports done by 3-4 people. This isn't because they're not getting in there in time, it's the feeling they have that they'll never be demoted and as long as they play an honest way (or at least keep the proof hidden) they can easily stay on staff. They just sign in, lock a random thread and call that a week. I think the staff tends to be overlooked at a lot of times, now whether it's the website owner being busy and all, but you need to investigate these things until you catch the crooked ones and have a nice, honest, and hardworking staff team. Sorry if this is bad for some of you, but truth be out. (don't lock please)
Atomic is mostly harmless. At least on his obvious accounts (and if he's had others, I'm not aware of it), he doesn't try to scam or bother anyone. He just spams around for a bit before getting banned. It's just not a huge priority. As for activity, some people just don't mod as visibly; you can see who works scammer and (occasionally) spammer reports, but only mod logs tell the rest. Moreover, it's hard to fault mods for having other priorities; as long as they still do good work when they do have time, there's no immediate reason to get rid of them. Eventually, inactive mods do get de-modded. Furthermore, if corrupt mods "keep the proof hidden," what are we supposed to find? We do investigate all credible evidence and rumors; but, when there's nothing to go off of, I'm not sure what you expect.
I agree. DarkSpark has recently been demoted for unacceptable inactivity, so inactivity is being dealt with. I also agree with Sin. In regard to Moderators not doing very much, they generally do lots.
My opinion is... There is a limited user-base of mod worthy people. Those people are normally the smart people to talk to the mods... And... The mods do much more than you can see.
Mods have a life too, and yes, I know that that's no excuse, but honestly, ease up on them. I'm friends with Jesse and MegaMatt and I know they both give up some of their time to do quite a few ammount of scammer reports, aswell as spammer reports. Think of it this way, do you notice yourself grow up in short-terms? No, but you do in the end. Think of the mods as the slowley growing limbs and the forums as the soul. TL;DR- Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not happening.
The mods do a lot. They do a lot of "Behind the Scenes" work that you can;t see. Also, I think they do a great job keeping up with the spammer/scammer reports considering how many there are daily. Keep up the good work mods.
Yeah,some1 has flamed on mod,the flamer got banned. Finniscool, add my msn [email protected],god,i have pm'ed u so many time's. or i'm gonna do something bad there ^^
Ahahahah it only took a year to have him demoted. The standards are too lenient towards inactive mods.
I'll have to agree with you there. Although real life issues obviously come before Sythe, it can really get out of hand
The majority of my work is done through PMs. The users pm me about what they want edited in their thread, what threads they believe to be breaking rules, and mods pm me about my opinion on certain scammer reports. With 100k+ users complaining about something; most of which who use the market, you really don't need to go looking for things to moderate (although it does help).
Its still obvious Viper. A mod that doesn't communicate with any members and such and hardly appears online probably doesn't do a lot on this site.
