Sleeping In Public

Not homeless sleeping, but more or so sleeping on the skytrain, train, bus, park, beach, etc - do you do it? Can you do it? Why or why not?

I feel comfortable myself, I feel safe, sometimes I have really long work shifts and have no problem falling asleep on my public transportation ride home - or have a quick nap at the water while enjoying the sun.

So what about you guys? Its mostly just to pass time for me on my commute.

 

Never I was able to sleep outside of my bed... (except when I was baby )
Pretty annoying on 10H+ plane flight.

 

i slept in the underground-train like a month ago and missed my destination until someone woke me up. Funny enough it was both my friend and i completely gone after a saturday night out haha.

 

I never fall into a deep sleep as someone else mentioned, or miss my stops, unless of course it’s 6 Am and my body is going into a sleep deprived coma because I had 10 jagrbombs, 6 shots of jameson, 4 beers, and a hooker the night before - also like someone else mentioned. “Night out”

 

With ease. Only tine I can't is when I have a laptop etc with me, and the paranoia of someone snatching it keeps me awake lol

 

Depending on my surroundings and who my brain feels like juding, I will get the same way over a phone in my pocket

 

sleeping on the train isnt such a big deal when you realize everyone does it, you dont look at people any diff when they sleep do you?

 

i rode bikes with friends to san diego once, we couldnt find a hotel so we slept under a bush on one of the beaches. it was actually really peaceful

 

Honestly i wish i could fall asleep anywhere as i've seen some people do. I don't mind if it's like at a beach or park where i'm with friends/family relaxing and i take like a lil cat nap. But i could never by myself on public transportation or in class. I guess i get afraid as a woman in public being too vulnerable like that, and can't fully relax enough to just sleep wherever.

 

When i lived in the western world, NO.

Now I live in Asia it is normal pretty much everywhere

 

Oh yeah, I love sleeping and i'm able to sleep almost everywhere, naps on the beach are great btw

 

I don’t like people to see me sleeping. I guess it makes me feel vulnerable. Don’t know how others sleep in public

 

I've a hard time sleeping in public. I'd never do it other than long ass flights.

 

Do it on Venezuela and you will wake up naked

I remember being 13 and living in Hong Kong since I was 7-15 but if you know asia you know that you can pretty much get your hands on anything that is underage and so that's exactly what we did. We got 2 24 packs by simply walking into the local 7-11 ANfor the weekend and we'd make our way to the skatepark and would basically skate and drink till we'd be to zooted to even walk straight so we would always end up living in the skatepark on the weekends lmao. those were the times .


Other than that I don't really see a problem with it. Our ancestors way before us lived outside. I read some articles saying sleeping outside can be mentally healthy for you and just from personal experiance, breathing in fresh air is basically like taking medicine. It's very good for us.

 

I'd have to be very exhausted to fall asleep out in public. I have done it before, especially back in high school with those seven hour days after I already stayed up late as hell messing around on Xbox or computer.

 

I slept all the time in college. In the classroom, halls, or lounge areas. I was on such a ridiculous schedule I had to catch some Z’s somewhere. Embarrassing to wake up and your mouth is open or something though lol.
