Reign In Blood and Seasons In The Abyss are my favourite albums, they are a very definitive band for their genre.
I've got the Still Reigning DVD...Fucking intense.

For thrash metal they're not bad but I hate thrash metal. I wouldn't say they are one of the best metal bands.

This is probably the only Metal band i like.

I suggest you listen to "Desciple".

Slayer is brutal shit, i enjoy it very much.

 

Don't forget War Ensemble, Angel of Death, etc.

 

I like this band, but the vocals are okay. My favorite song by them is Raining Blood.

Wtf? They aren't even close to 80's death metal. Look at Possessed or Death. That's death metal, this is just some kind of thrash-hybrid. I don't really fancy Slayer much, i prefer Death Angel, Sepultura, Exodus, Whiplash, Sodom, Kreator, Sadus, Flotsam & Jetsam etc.

 

Death Metal my ass they are Thrash / Heavy metal.

Sepultura, Soulfly, Shadows Fall, Overkill and Exodus Rule

 

Soulfly isn't thrash metal...Even the latest Sepultura can't even be labelled as thrash metal.

Soulfly made/makes Trash metal if you like it or not same as Sepultura.

I've always recognized them as death metal for some reason. Sorry for that rant (you do rant a lot, act on impulse, say things without being sure etc. when you need to catch up on ~30+ hours sleep from the summer break).
