No Religion teaches that he's an ass, that's just the most logical explanation if you were to assume there was a God. Think about it. Death, destruction, evil, adultery, etc.

 

If he had given us free will, all of those would be our fault.

No death = overpopulation and cease in supplies
Destruction = man-made
Evil = ?
Adultery = would not happen if no marriage is done or someone is married to their love, etc.
