Shoutbox

I think a shoutbox should be added so that community members can communicate with other members they don't know or do know so we can share information faster and more efficiently then just posting a thread hoping someone would take a look at it. I think a shoutbox could help us grow into a better community also.
Also while adding a shoutbox you have to have moderators to watch over it to block out any unwanted content therefore i think the staff should choose some of the more trusted members of this community to become shoutbox moderators.

Shout boxes look cheap and 'corny'. It also would take away from the active community. Also the only thing you would see would be "Selling X! For X!"

 

As I used to be an admin/mod on a community that was much smaller than Sythe and had a shoutbox, I can tell you now that it would be worthless. Having any type of official chat, especially one like a shoutbox that requires nothing to find out about or post in, results in said chat being full of spam and random messages. There is no way moderators can keep up with it, and thus they are useless.

 

Alright then well thanks your all your feedback. i thought it would be helpful to some members looking for a MiddleMan or help with something.

It gets annoying, lags the server and fills up with spam anyway

 

Judging by that mans signature, you could go there if you want to talk to people.

 

Is the sythe IRC still up and running? Stick to that.

I went on the tinychat official sythe server for two minutes, didn't recognize any usernames.. asked if anyone was actually from sythe.org and got banned. Someones on a power trip.
