    I am level 100+ combat level and I have a whip, what shield shall I have? Don't want to spend that much on DFS

    Based on defence bonuses Dragon Square Shield > Obisidian Shield > Rune Defender.

    I use both DFS and Rune defender.

    For stronger slayer monsters I use DFS and weaker ones I use the rune defender. Defender is also useful for praying tasks, due to the high attack power.

    Rune def for weak monsters and blessed spirit shield for stronger/prayer monsters.

    I recommend defender... it's free and you can get them pretty easily, I recommend you get at least 2 rune defenders so if you lose one you don't have to start the whole process over again
