Seriously....

Can we please change this god awful annoying rule about the plethora of pictures required to simply sell a freaking account? I tried selling multiple accounts, all of which have no email/no recovs/no p2p, so i simply used the same picture, rather than posting the same thing 3 different times on each account, and was contacted by two staff members about the "seriousness of it". Are you kidding me? They all look the exact same, why do I need to take 3 different pictures? The rule for having all 4 pictures in general is just absurd, and deters legit sellers like myself from selling accounts simply because it takes so dam long to post all the miniscule, details and extra pictures. Hoping this gets changed.

 

Having these four required pictures is a security issue. The staff have already discussed the issue of having those pictures as a requirement to selling your account. It only takes a couple minutes to save them onto Paint, and upload them.

Not everyone is as 'legit' as you or I.

Anyone can claim that they own an account, but in reality, they don't.

 

Right, I mean i can understand the necessity of proving items/stats as those are the driving force behind an account sale. But the offenses screen is an extremely minor issue unless the acc has a current macro ban, and the login screen will be verified by an MM usually during the sale (plus the login screen means nothing: any original can recover any account he has ever made, regardless of whether or not the account has an email or recoveries).

Im just saying, lighten the load a bit. I have at least 50 accounts I would love to sell, but 200 pictures makes me avoid that possibility.

 

The offences screen is there to help the buyer determine whether or not they want to buy the account based on the offences it has. For example, if a seller's account has been temp banned due to Macroing, the buyer would know if the account is in risk of a ban or something. If the offences screen wasn't there, the buyer would just buy without any knowledge of the account having previous offences.

 

You may be legit, but there are plenty of 'sellers' out there which aren't. Pictures aid in proving the legitimacy of ownership and clears up any security issues to do with the account. It needs to be done, the rules aren't gonna change for you bud.

 

I guess, however even if it has 0 offences, the chance of it being banned is just as high if the owner has botted on the account at all. And what do you think about the login screen requirement? Just curious.

Not saying they are going to change for me. I am just saying its overkill and making a suggestion for a change. Get bent.

It also gives a sense of security to the buyer. Trust me, I've seen a lot of attempted scams with people not having the required images or faking images. The login screen is a MUST and one of the important aspects. It'll tell you whether or not the account has a registered email, which if set, can be easily used to recover an account. It'll tell you if the account has recovery questions, and when it was set, as well as the amount of membership days.

I think all four images are all necessary.

 

Right but my point is, it doesnt really matter if the account has those things set. In fact, a good scammer will NOT have those set and post a picture of it to give a false sense of security to his buyers, because he knows he can recover it regardless. The only real gauge of security of an account sale is the character of the person selling it, thats the unfortunate truth.

 

I have no problem with all of the login and offences screens if they are the same, as long as the account proves so. If it gets serious, a staff member can verify.

 

But honestly though, the system can be beat so easily that it defeats its usefulness. Unless an MM is used, a person can edit or post pics of an account that is not theirs, or a different account, and then scam the person anyways. Having the requirement for all these things is simply redundant and the security it provides is minimal.

 

I personally think we need a whole new revamp on the required pics and pics needed to sell an account, because you can simply post the same offenses log for every account.....and login pic for that matter.

 

Which I did for 3 of my accounts log in pics, because none of them have emails/recovs/or p2p, and I saw no need to retake the same picture 3 times showing the same thing, and I got flack for it.

However the intent of this thread is to change the excessive picture requirements for sales. Sure its nice and it gives all the sectionals their mod logs for the month, but its really not needed.

Seriously takes like 5 seconds to take pics and another 2 minutes to upload them. It is ridiculous when you aren't a scammer, I agree but it never hurt anyone to be safe.

 

If you are only talking about the offense or login screen then you can use the same picture?

You block out your ip, if there is no email, recovs, membership, or messages then the picture looks exactly the same on all your accounts anyway?

I use the same pic for my offense screen because its the same for every account.

 

I think of the log-in picture requirement as more of a convenience for the buyer, that way you know whether or not you will have to go through the frustration of changing the email or recoveries. I also think all 4 pictures are necessary.

 

I think the offenses shouldn't be necessary mainly because you can google runescape offense screen and use the picture that shows up.


The only thing that i can think that the login screen is used for is to see how much membership is left. But if the account is f2p then its pointless to have it.

 

No support, It may be a hassle but it's necessary.

 

I understand you point, what were trying to get at is basically its posting the same picture so it seems like a waste of time, but oh well Nate and I will just be agitated when selling accounts...lol

 

They all look the same? Lol... Anyone can just print screen the same login and offences at different angles.... It makes no difference.

If they want to enforce this rule, than enforce one account per thread.
