I was just scammed for my account. I just emailed blizzard telling them to ban the account because the only way for me to get my character back now is to buy a new account and transfer it onto the account.

Rule 1: Never give out account info before you recieve payment.

Rule 2: DON'T USE PAYPAL.

With paypal, the seller is protected so that they can cancel the payment at any time. Even when the money is in your bank Paypal can go in and take what they need.

Paypal is safe for buyers not for sellers. I recieved the paypal email, requested the money in my paypal account be sent to my bank account, then gave my WoW account info to the "buyer".

Rule 3: Your secret question answer CANNOT be changed, do not give it out unless you have the payment 100%!!!

All it takes is a phone call to blizzard. You give your secret question answer and you can have the account changed to whatever email you want and get the password back. Hold on to that thing.

If you MUST use paypal, make a deal that you will never give the secret question answer to the guy. This way you have a way of getting your account back, and the guy has a way of getting his money back (paypal).

Use a wire transfer instead of paypal. Get the money in your bank account, then give the guy all the info.

If he doesnt trust you, because he doesnt have the security of Paypal, give him your phone number. Let him phone u at home and reverse look up your number so he knows where you live. Fax him a signed agreement... do whatever you gotta do WITHOUT compromising your own safety.

Anyway, I wasn't so lucky. I only lost an account that I was going to sell for $150... so it's not the end of the world. But hey, if you can save yourself the agrivation.. DO IT!

That really sucks about what happened. >_< I traded a guy my runescape account that I could easily sell for $80+ and he got his WoW account locked then stole it back. Then tried to sell both runescape and WoW accounts...

It's always a risk... Very hard to find legit people since Sythe is populated with so many greedy little 11 year olds.
