Search member function disabled?

When I try to search for member the following message appears:

How can people abuse this function on Sythe?

I think they were finding old acc's and hacking them, for the trust of havin an 05 acc or sum thin like that

 

I think only staff can use it now, it got disabled at some point due to abuse.

 

It was disabled because it was easily used to DDOS the site. I suggested a while back that it be given a timer like on sending PMs or reporting spam, but it never went anywhere.

Here is a little trick you can do to find someone.

1. Go to any section and click this



2. Click advanced search

3. Type in the username of the person you would like to find, and then select "search all open forums".



This usually works, but if it doesn't you could always google the person's name.

 

It got disabled because that's how the site was easily DDoS'ed using that memberlist. Only staff can use it.

I think that timer idea x339 suggested is a good idea.
