Safest Transfer Method?

I was wondering, what's the safest transfer method that an under 18 can use? Thankyou.

 

Paypal, just say your over 18 and get someone to verify it for you

 

3 things.

1. When I link my credit card to it, it will say I'm not over 18
2. Isn't it illegal?
3. It can be reversed

 

Using paypal underage isn't illegal, but using paypal at all is very risky. The system is so flawed and unreliable that using paypal usually ends bad. I suggest using Western Union. I don't believe there is an age requirement, and all you have to do is go and pick up the money at a local gas station or supermarket that allows western union transactions.

 

Are there any ways of Western Union going wrong? E.g. no sent payment, reversing etc? I suppose you could wait for the money before trading anything. Thankyou by the way

 

1). Link your parents card, to verify it. That's what I did, and I had no issues.
2). Using paypal underage? I believe so, they barely every require physical proof of your age. If they ask for it, consider yourself extremely unlucky, but you can talk your way out of most limitations.
3). What can be reversed? Payments? If so, yeah they can be very easily reversed, which is a problem with paypal.

For WU (in my country anyway), you're required to have a legitimate form if ID. In my case I use my drivers license, but if you're not eligible for that, it may be best to have it sent to your parents name, and have one of them pick it up for you.

If you're going second via WU (eg, the other person is sending the money to you before you hand over the goods), it's completely safe. Once you have money in hand, it can't be reversed. One other thing I should add is that you MUST pick-up the money before you hand over the goods. WU payments CAN be cancelled even after they've been paid for, only up until they have been picked up.

If you're going first, there is always a chance that they don't send the money. (You can always use a MM/OMM)

 

I think I'll stay away from PayPal then.

If it's eligible for under 18's, I can show them my passport.

passport works fine with western union, even i think WU is safest, i have recieved and sent cash many times, to my lil bro mostly but still.. The only thing is, many people are just plain lazy and cant bother going to the market or nearby WU outlet to send/recieve money.

Another one is MoneyBookers. I havent used it much, but ive heard it is also bad coz transactions can be easily reversed there too. nevertheless, it doesnt require a credit/debit card in order to start spending and recieving, however, ur transactions get a certain limit. That limit doesnt harm me, but it depends on what kind of trades you make, the limit is Rs 67k for me, (india) so thats about 1250 or 1300 USD.
