RuneScape Scam - Beware!

This had been around for awhile, but it's new to me. I'm posting this to warn everyone who might not have seen this before.

I was in the Grand Exchange, wearing my santa and a pile of expensive crap, when a level 112 came up and asked me in PM if I'd like to join an item manipulation clan.

I told him I think item manipulation is crap, but he convinced me to hear him out. He then had me join his friend's clan chat, who he said is the recruitment head of the clan.

I join their CC, and they eventually tell me to go and apply at their clan site, a ***. I check it out and, big surprise, the "Join" link leads to a fake RS forum phisher.

I then cursed them out, and they kicked me from the clan chat.

Phishers are dangerous on their own, but it's alot easier to fall for them if you've been lulled into a false sense of security on RuneScape, MSN, or whatever it may be.

I hate idiots who try to scam little kid's pixels, so I immediately took care of the site and tracked down and confronted the nerd in charge:



Hopefully, he won't be a problem anymore. Feel free to spam his AIM to make sure.

But I know there are many more of these lowlifes out there, and I' hate to see anyone from Sythe fall for these idiots.

It's not that hard to spot a phisher if you know what to look for.

You probably still have it BECAUSE it's a crappy main. These nerds seem to be targeting only rich or high-level people, but I'm sure there are others who'll try just about anyone.

 

The *** part has nothing to do with it. dot.tk gives away free domains and thats why they had that.

 

Yeah that's why most scam sites have *** because it's free.

You should never enter any information from clicking links, only time I ever enter my information is when I type runescape.com myself.

 

The clan phish..priceless...nubs at fagex.

You shouldnt have a problem with phishing sites if you cheak the address and if its dosnt say www.runescape.com/ somthing.... then its a phishing site so dont enter your user or pass =) I like to spam them sometimes lol

 

this is actually real less then a week ago i lost 40 mil he told me to go to last page then it said log in i got fucked lost full bandos and bgs

 

I used to get these on my rare name accounts, and my rich main, but no longer since I lost my riches

 

Send me the site URL, I'll get their site taken down and get their home phone for you to spam.

 

how do you find out all the info for websites?

 

It's not that hard, I use information from the site code, whois, and promotions. I can usually take a phishing URL spammed by someone in RuneScape and, within ten minutes, have their name, age, and home address.

 

Wow MITD fucked that kid up.

 

Lol, you confronted him, nice one. but i never fall for these things, i just listen to what Runescape tell you, Don't enter your runescape info anywhere else but runescape.com.. and rsbot =D
