All of your accounts, main and otherwise, are now on our watch list and will be monitored for the use of ibot and all other inappropriate third-party software. Regardless of who you are or how long you've been with us, if you decide to cheat and bot ever again we will have no hesitation in: (1) permanently removing your account from our wonderful community in order to protect Jagex's rights under the DMCA, and (2) naming you as a defendant in Jagex Limited v. John Does, which is a lawsuit based on DMCA violations that is currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (Civ. Action No. SACV11-00969-CJC).

Please note that this amnesty and settlement offer is protected under Fed. R. Evid. 408. If you ignore our offer and instead continue use botting software, we reserve our rights to pursue statutory damages against you for between $200 to $2,500 per act of past, present, and/or future botting in accordance with 17 U.S.C. 1203(c)(3).

We do hope you make the morally sound and lawful choice of turning your back on bots. We look forward to seeing you in game having fun in a way that is true to the spirit of fair play and respectful to your fellow players.

Yea that was Runescape email they didn't message my irl email. So they must have some sort of detection as my personal email is not tied to my account.

I wonder why they're giving second chances... Last time they did this, they banned my main account, all my botting accounts, and even my friends account who frequently logged in from my network.

I've purchased bots before (not iBot specifically) and I haven't gotten the message from Jagex nor an email.

 

ive bought bots before and have botted my way to a few 99s no emails or inboxes for me.

 

they are doing that because the threat of a lawsuit will probably scare off the casual botter.

 

Wait so they can make you pay up to $2500.....For cheating....In a video game...?

I somehow don't see that happening

BTW didn't get this message of any of my 5 botted accounts some were botted probaby for over 200 hours in total (all p2p of course)

 

They talk about ibot, a part of nexus.

Alot of people have got this exact same message. It is weird that the message only makes reference to Ibot.. how do they know who has been using Ibot software and who hasn't?

I have never used Nexus or the Ibot software, so I am not expecting one of those emails anytime soon. That is still very weird though..

My email adds

"We are proceeding to file a law suit against you for continued threats against our community. We had already offered up a chance for amnesty, which you had clearly disposed of, and therefore we are taking our counter-actions to the next level. You have the right to an attorney, and will be the defendant in this case. If you fail to show up, the case will be postponed until further notice. Next time you should have taken our warnings seriously, for this is a serious matter, not only a game."

I'm being sued over 2500$- apparently $11,500 WTF. FBI also came to my house 11 hours after the email and said I have an orden of arrest, and I was bailed out on the spot.

 

That's crazy Laden, keep us up to date on how you get on mate. I have attached a link to my post, you can ask several law professionals to get there opinion.

Trollo? The FBI wouldn't get involved for 11,500 dollars.

Besides you can't get served (saying you are being sued, need to show up to court) over email, it's either a letter or someone physically finds you and gives you the notice.
