Can someone please enlighten me as to why this is a rule?

 

It's considered spam because it contributes absolutely nothing to the thread. If you won't buy a guide unless it's verified, wait until it's verified.

 

People who use the phrase often have no interest in the guide, but are just after post count. Obviously there are some who really do have interest, but people have abused the phrase so much that we have to disallow it completely.

 

It was made into a rule because too many people were spamming guide threads with: "I'll buy this when it gets verified" (for post count).

I was actually going to buy it when it was verified. I was even talking to the guy on MSN shortly after asking him to get it verified, but then he just told me the method (he was pretty much selling a free Powerbot bot).

 

I was the one who infracted you for it, and you disagreed with me. There was a sticky about it (made by HeavenLord) that clearly states that you'll be infracted for making a post saying 'I'll buy after verification'. It just adds unnecessary spam. Once you see it in the Verified Guide Sales section, then you can post.

I find this quite strange... Infractions without knowing the user's intent? While I do agree it was largely used to increase post count, I find it unfair that guide buyers (possible user A) must wait to speak if it's unverified. Someone (possible user B) could, and this is an italic "could" for some reason, buy that guide because user A showed no interest, and user B did.

 

Most new members will use that as an excuse to get their post count up and not actually buy the guide after it is verified.

 

I recognize that as an issue, but there has to be a way to make this fair for the true buyers and still punish the liars.

 

I think that that saying is perfectly legitimate and disallowing it just confuses new members. >_>. Who cares if people are spamming for post count... Then just infract them for spam.

 

I'll be completely honest, every section here has their own rules. I do read some of them, but there are way too many to be on top of all of them. This rule just makes no sense to me. I was a legitimate buyer. You can ask the seller, I talked to him on MSN, and I helped him find a moderator to verify it so that I could buy it.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but the rule itself. Like I said to you in a private message, you were just doing your job by infracting me. I don't care if my infraction gets reversed, I just don't like this rule.
