ROM Hacking...

Has anyone here ever hacked ROMs? Pretty much it's where you get a ROM (a console game you can play using an emulator on your PC) and edit it in any way you think would be best.

I spent a few years hacking Pokemon games on the GBA and a few months making some hacking tools for the DS games, anyway I was wondering if anyone here would like me to post guides on ROM hacking (mainly GBA Pokemon games).

Also if you've spent any time hacking any ROMs at all I think it would be good to have a thread to discuss it... so go.

 

Yeah, I used to hack a lot of pokemon games (specially ruby, emerald and sapphire), maps, special characters (stats, fake images, etc), and a lot more actually.

 

I used to hack Pokemon game a lot. I made the following series.

Kanto Region:
Magma Takeover - Fire
Aqua Takeover - Water
The Hentai Trilogy
The Legend of Charzard
The Legend of Blastoys

Hoenn Region:
Team Rocket Invasion
May's Lucky Day
Brenden's Epic Disaster

Total Remake:
Pokemon - Orange Glare
Pokemon - Purple Haze
Pokemon - Black Dusk

Currently Working on:
Coding Pokemon ROMS, you won't know what hit ya

Edit: If you make a Pokemon Sinnoh Region Map Changer (like AdvanceMap) let me know. I need one of those bad.

 

There won't be a fully functional map editor for the DS for a while, like 6 months minimum. I know I won't be working on one until the G/S remakes are released and translated. However some map data has been found, mainly the textures, x & y offsets, and some movement data. ^_^
