RIP Safe Mode

Safe Mode is now not selectable... it's only a fallback option if your graphics display settings somehow mess up. What does this mean for bots, of which 90% are coded in safe mode?

 

i wasnt botting in safe mode anyways so i dont care tbh.. but its kinda lame for all those scripts ;p and login changed a lil bit to.. lame lame lame updates!

 

Were you using RsBot or NeXus?

Btw, anybody notice that the login/display settings have been changed very frequently in the past 6 months? Looks like we're rattling Jagex beyond just the macro detection team. :laugh:

 

Can't you still manually configure the graphics settings?

i think safe mode is now called min, since you got min low med and high now ;p

 

look like it'll be a bit before I get 99 cooking now. How long do you think it will be to get these things updated?

 

Guys, its not to stop botters. Its to help RS as a game and business expand.

Safe mod stopped Jagex from developing greater graphics and an overall better experience.

Now that its removed, they can focus on details and eventually have a game such as WOW.

The login screen in the eyes of a botter, has been changed to stop them botting. Again this is wrong. The login screen plays a big part in what members think of the game.

The new screen is beautiful, and looks much more professional than the last.

These changes are for the "better" members of RS, and in the best interest of Jagex. NOT to stop botters.

That obviously is changing.

Them being voted developer of the year speaks for itself. They develop. They move on. They expand.

Safe mod acted as a limitation of their expansion. Therefore, it must be removed.

 

It hasn't been removed from the coding of their game, though. They just made it not selectable.

 

Meaning in time, it will be removed from the game.

Why would they keep code that isn't active?


E.G They removed the whole item and all the ID's associated with pretzels after an event was over.

 

people in general dont want a sucky game what you can play on a sucky pc, its all bout the looks now.

 

Ehh the points are valid, but I still just can't imagine there wasn't some sort of underhandedness in this. They're giving the impression of becoming desperate. Maybe it's not desperate to kill bots, but desperate nonetheless.

Updates are usually on Tuesdays, no? =|

 

Opinions aside, this sucks right now.

for people who have to use safe mode to bot (ASWp if you must know =P) are there any other options now or are we just going to have to sit tight and hope?

Yup, probably going to be a couple days before bots are back up. Reflection has already been fixed, but they don't work since safe mode was removed.

Also, I bet that Jagex allows for an option to turn off or on the new right click menu. It's so freaking annoying (and difficult to pick up drops, etc) that im sure enough people will complain and we will get the option to turn it off.
