(If you are driving home, pick a fancy non-alcoholic drink, imported mineral water for example.)

Also consider your blanket and basket, and it might be a good idea to have a look around the picnic site beforehand to spot the ants and shade etc.

Finally, if its raining on the day you need a backup plan, so think about some alternative indoor date ideas beforehand.
