As an ex-Administrator and staff adviser, I do not expect this thread to be locked or cast aside; rather, its posting ought to be conducive to discussion amongst users, prompting a much-needed assessment of the site's two general Administrators. Having resigned at the start of October, owing to exigent real life circumstances, Govind & Giverny remained as the last-standing general Administrators. The Moderators, who do overwhelmingly more, often take the brunt of the criticism, most likely owing to their lesser status and the consequent willingness of general users to comment freely on their performance. It is therefore my desire users feel undeterred from commenting on the performance of our two remaining general Administrators in this thread.

Govind's performance is largely impaired by his lack of strength in the area of leadership. Having worked alongside Govind for many years now, I can say with no disrespect that Govind's characteristics are more in line with those of a lackey than a leader, which is particularly unfortunate when considering that Administrators ought to lead staff and users, setting a positive example and encouraging innovation. A cursory examination of Staff Feedback will elicit a prevailing theme: ''haven't seen you around much.'' This has really summed up the nature of your presence here for quite some time now.

I am also ambivalent as to whether your recent revelations to me about an Upper Lounge staff poll were at all appropriate. Naturally, I am not going to disclose any information relating to Upper Lounge topics, but you should consider restraint when conversing with others - your revelation actually constituted a breach of the Staff Code, but, more worryingly, your justification for the approach you took towards the Upper Lounge topic was, in my opinion, poorly informed.

On the 17th November, you stated the following to me:

''i'm primarily trying to make money out of sythe.org at the moment actually >_>''

This is worrying. Whilst many users exist on Sythe.org in order to make money - which is not inherently troubling - it is somewhat concerning that you claim ''primarily'' to be trying to make money out of Sythe.org. Certainly, make as much money as you can, but you might consider whether it is appropriate for your primary dedication to be to putting money in your own pocket.

On the 28th November, you also stated the following to me:

''My position is becoming more and more similar to Matthew's each passing day; soon enough I won't even be part of the community regardless of whether I'm staff.''

As a general Administrator, this is not acceptable. General administrators are expected not only to be active within the community, but also to lead it. I encourage you to consider whether you are deserving of your position when your approach is compared to that of various current Globals, who are ostensibly more interested in the site and its community.

A final comment would be that it is in the interest of your wellbeing to move on in life and allow a younger, fresher staff member to give the top shot a try. You live vicariously through the Internet, and, as a friend, I know this to be true. In my opinion, it has thus come to the point where you are not only impairing the future progression of Sythe.org, but also your own progression as a person.

Giverny's performance is equally deserving of scrutiny. I hope that Giverny will take my comments on board - it often seems to be the case that she is unwilling to acknowledge negative feedback, and thus I hope my thoughts - a friend's thoughts - will have more resonance.

I do not have as much to say about your performance as I do Govind's, but I would say that it is equally poor - you are inactive and appear to be doing little in the way of innovating, which is essential to the future of Sythe.org. When I was an Administrator, promotions were occurring frequently, and I dedicated large amounts of time to picking out the best candidates for promotion, which is by no means a small task. I cannot necessarily comment on your behind-the-scenes activity, but it certainly wasn't excellent when I resigned, which was at the start of October.

My honest feeling is that you do not really care for Sythe.org, and, owing to your longterm absence, my recommendation is that you step down and allow for a more enthusiastic staff member to take your place - one that really wants it and has the potential to further better the site.
