    Removing a registered email!

    READ THIS FIRST BEFORE CONTINUING

Currently parts of this guide is out dated, do to recent updates to the recovery system there is only one way to get an email off your account that you don't have access to.

I'm going to keep the method below incase Jagex decides to revert to the previous recovery system.

    Basically, all you have to do now is email;

In your email you will want to explain your situation; "I registered my email to my account a very long time ago and the email I used has expired".

Along with that statement you will want to include your recovery questions, passwords, membership details, date created, etc. (basically the same way you would during the recovery system). You also want to include the password you would desire them to change it to.

    ------------------------------------------------------

So i get this question a lot, and provide the solution.

This guide is just a quick worded, how-to. I'm at the airport using my 3G so when i have access to my Mac and Wifi, i'll upload some pictures.

Anyways! This "guide, how-to" whatever you would like to call it is just a way to get past the new recovery system.

Here i'll tell you (and eventually show you once i'm home" how to remove a registered email that you may or may not know the password to anymore or have sold your account and someone has changed it.

All you need are recoveries or basic creation information.

Any "Jagex doesn't read email's comments will be reported as spam". This method for a fact, does work and Jagex will reply. This isn't a way to get Jagex's attention and to spam or abuse them so do not take advantage of the opportunity.

If it ever happens again, to remove his email follow these steps.

Send an email to - [email protected] (you can look on forums this is jagex's help email).

Again all you need is the recovery information.

You'll get an email back telling you to submit an appeal via the account appeal system -
    Code:
    https://www.runescape.com/loginapplet/loginapplet.ws?mod=accountappeal&dest=passwordchoice.ws
(that is the actual link to the account appeal system, if you don't trust me you can go to RuneScape's website and get it yourself).

    Type your username.

The next box will ask for your registered email. Leave this box blank and click next twice and you will be taken to the Appeal Form.

Fill out the Appeal Form in as much detail as possible, then click 'Send to Jagex'.

The information they need includes early passwords, billing details (if you have ever been a member), contact information and recovery answers. If you did not set any recovery questions, you can choose the option marked 'I did not set any recovery questions'.

Everything is pretty detailed when you get to the website.

    Response times;

    Non-Members: 5-7 days
    Members: 3-5 days

Again, pardon the slop of this guide, i'm only on 3G on a iPhone, when i get home to my iPad or Mac i'll fix it and make it more creative.

    Hope it helps!

    Correct, however..

The guides are out dated and no longer work with the updated Recovery system.

I follow the guide to where I enter the username into appeal system. Afterwards I get prompted to enter the email to the account with 6 tries remaining. After I leave it blank 6 times, it doesn't take me to an appeal page, it says blocked try again in one hour. Help :)?

They actually give you 6 attempts to write in an email now. And you fail to provide the correct one, it prevents you from trying to recover for 1hr.

If you actually tried this, you would have realized the link varies per email confirmation number. Everyone has their own APS number. Plus when this guide was made, this was the correct method on removing it before they swapped to unique links.

Sorry. I'm currently trying to find a method that doesn't require the new "Six tries our hour block" BS that they have now, or perhaps a valid link that doesn't differ per user.

You can try forums, that is where i would make an appeal.. If not you can always send [email protected] an email and see if they'll reply to you. They always reply to people with account issues such as not knowing an email, unable to log-in, etc. In terms of requesting an unmute or unban i can not promise they'll reply.

With the new system of 6 email tries a jagex rep emails you asking for details in a reply email. I just did this today and a mod asked me for recovs, memb info, old passes, etc. There was no link required to go to.

    Yes, [email protected]

    Hey this is awesome feedback!

We'll see how long this lasts though, you know Jagex will get fed up having to remove every email by hand, they'll end up making a new system for it.

Congrats on getting your account back though! I'll update this in the morning after I wake up.
