Referral System

I've been contacting some of my runescape buddys who are just getting into the market and I've had a few of them register on here lately in an effort to build my referral count up.

For some odd reason a handful of them are telling me that they don't see a referral field and some of them said that they put my name in for it, but my count is still at 0.

How does this system work? Is it broken? am i doing it wrong? :S
