Reason for bans??

Hey, i see all these people, some who i've traded with in the past, whether it be temporarily banned or just Banned.
i reckon you should make it so people can go to their profile and see why they were banned or something? or make Ban history / infractions publicly viewable so people can get a better idea of who they're trading with so they can better pick who they wan't to trade with.​

 

We try to keep all ban reasons private. If you would like to know, ask the person directly.

 

No. Infractions are to be between the person and staff only. You can also ask why someone was banned in the "Where did the Sythe member go" thread in Community General. If someone knows, they'd answer you.

 

Agree if someone is banned, but not with temporarily, since it's eazy to get , and pretty pointless.

 

If someone is banned, you shouldn't trade with them anyway, so no support here.

 

I agree with this but I think it should be made public if someone has ever been temp banned.

 

yeah but i mean if they've been temp banned then wwhen they get unbanned people may want to know reasons why they're banned, and the person mightn't be honnest

If a member goes to a temp ban status is would be very smart to wait for the member to be unbanned. Trading with a temp ban is risky as although most are for infraction build-up, some are not and must be reviewed by an upper Mod. After their review, a temp ban may change to a perm ban. Just food for thought

 

Yeah true that its good to wait, but i still think it should say if they're on review for a possible perminate, instead of just the same "temp ban" that 5 infractions gets you

 

If someone was banned for a certain reason, it should be between them and the staff.
The only way I could see this working is for Ban Upon Request accounts. It would be nice to see if someone asked to be banned, instead of breaking a rule.

 

Acctuly, I've suggested this already, Because I thought it would be helpfull knowing why , if it was for scam/ spamm etc, The awnser I got was '' If they are banned, avoid trading them''.

This has been suggested lots and lots of times.
Although here's a simple explanation:

If someone is banned it is permanently, usually for scamming or other illegal stuff. If it says temporarily banned, it usually means they have been either spamming or breaking other forum rules.

Also I'm sure if someone is temp banned, you would be carefull enough to trade with the person, if at all.
Also imo, if people get banned they get more eager to come back to just scam since they might hate the site lol.

 

If they are banned, how can we contact them? They probably don't use the same msn anymore after they get banned.

 

Not all of them are smart enough to do this. You can also ask friends of theirs since they tend to tell their friends why they were banned.
