Haven’t been yet, but I’m really trying to go to one soon. Seems hella fun. Even though I’m in the military, I might have to accidentally take LSD while I’m finally experiencing it as well for the laughs and a good time.

Ultra 20 looks pretty dope, but I feel like the headliners could have been better. Way too many big names that haven't done much for the scene in the past year. No Seven Lions, no Illenium. Like honestly fuck Axwell Ingrosso, David Guetta, and Steve Aoki. For the money they're paying them they coulda gotten a bunch more sick support like Jauz, Mercer, Mr Carmack, Excision (!!!), Getter. Also super surprised that there's practically no dubstep producers.

But super stoked for What So Not, Kaskade, the NGHTMRE b2b Slander, and Porter Robinson's first festival appearance as Virtual Self!!

I actually dislike virtual self cause i hate techno haha.
I went to edc LV last year and it was awesome. Line up was pretty weak tho...

I dont like any hard stuff haha. Love listening to progressive

 

I've been too some fantastic amazing underground organised ones in forests and barns. Stopped attending them when someone passed away, But in Blackpool (UK) there is an event on often called ''pier on the pier'' which is mainly oldschool raving music filled with drug abusing chavs going off there nuts for people who want to experience it B-) Cheap event to go too

 

Does peoples still do this? I thought it was thing in the late 90's.

 

Raving is still going. It's just hard to get into the ones like the 60s-90s as the police wont allow them to happen due to OD's and deaths. You just have to know the people to get tipped when and were there happening. It's mainly hippies and chav's that attend them in this day in age. I wouldn't call festivals or nights out in clubs raving myself.

 

Yea its actually very popularized now and almost normalized. There are edm music festivals.

I have to disagree with you haha. A lot of people in the US at least it is different. It's rarely anything like what you can imagine i guess if you think its consumed with hippies. Its more like a club scene in the US but everyone is just tripping, taking e, or m.

 

That's not raving that's clubbing. I said there mainly hippies/chav's as they are drug fuelled raves in hidden places ''E's MD, Mushies ETC. You cannot take these into a club and take them openly while Raving with others. There fore you go underground and form raves of your own out of the controlled environments stopping you from doing this. Yes people take drugs into clubs but they do not take them out in the open with others.

 

Nah I go to Heavy Metal Festivals instead.

 

Mostly just warehouse ones for hard trance/hardstyle/hardcore/industrial

 

i'm from So Cal and here there's always something going on. I've been to a couple and traveled for some. Lately haven't done much of the big ones, just normally stick to shows. But, always fun

 

I was raving last night ended up going home tripping my back off it was a great rave also in the UK

 

Trust me, there is a difference between clubbing and raving in New York.

 

You said its a club scene indicating it's taking place in clubs which is clubbing, Raving is going to abandoned warehouses/Factorys/Mansions/Forests/Barns and many more. If you are in a club and calling it a rave you have no idea what a true rave is.

 

I'd rather not argue with you, but it is different. Would you not indicate going to festivals as raves? such as edc? etc?

 

Festivals and clubbing is far from raving there controlled environments. Rave's do not happen in controlled environments they are explicitly underground as they are completely different to what you know as raving.

 

I remember those days surely fun times but I just grew out of it. Don't get me wrong raves are hella fun but I've just grew out of the atmosphere.
