With all the crazy updates over the past couple of years, I am now under the impression that Jagex are capable of anything in terms of ruining the game. This got me thinking, Jagex regretted the idea of rares because of their effect on the economy and how people shouldn't have to spend so much of their GPs on them. So the question I have is, could rares be the next victim of Jagex's atrocious updates spree?
Na I don't think so, the real rare's like Party Hat's, Santa hats, masks disks crackers etc. etc. have been around for like 7 years + If they were gonna do something about them, they would've done something by now.
Agreed. I think if hey ever did something so bold as to legitly nerf rares, ALOT of people would quit. Merching/making money/getting rares is half te reason why maxed/high level vets even play the game, nerfing this aspect would lose them a ton of players.
Knowing Jagex, they'll find a way to fuck up the game even further. It's just a matter of time before they nerf rares, IMO. I sometimes wonder why I play this retarded game.
I don't think they will nerf the rares, as they are a giant sign of wealth in the game due to the insane costs of them.
funny topic as i one thought jagex was going to make all rare's non tradeable and item's like easter pump disk half wine wieldable to hold like flower's :O buahhh don't jinx it
They have done something as bold as that to make a lot of people quit. Mind you, it was to "prevent real world trading and macros," but a JMod has said that they regret putting party hats into the game and the effect it had on the economy. I don't doubt that they will remove rares from the game sooner or later, or at least make them non-tradable.
Sure they killed the wildy, and trade limits, but there are still aspects of those components of RS that can be used still (PvP, BH), but if they were to actually remove or make rares untradeable, I just don't see laot of people (with any wealth at least) sticking around, as obtaining rares provides a goal for alot of RS players to work for.
I seriously hope they don't, it will only add on top of everyones e-rage, causing even more players to find a new game.
