Random black screen

I'm sure everyone knows the famous white screen you would get if you swapped windows to quickly while playing <2k7 runescape.

But, now I get a black screen randomly during runescape, I'm not even swapping windows or doing anything, I could be idle and still randomly get the black screen. I only get it when in resizable, but that's my favorite way to play, as I am sure it is many others. Any way to fix, or to lower the rate of occurances? Possibly some graphix settings?

next time it happens I'll screenie, there isnt much to see, entire screen goes black. nothing is visible but the browser/toolkit.

 

that happens because java just decides to stop running, its a pain in the ass, I get it all the time, I need a fix as well

 

Wow funny you say that because I actually get a random black screen once in a while, it really actually only happens when I start my computer up or turn it on from sleep mode and it does it about 1-2 times from that. But never had it during runescape, so it could be something with the graphics or usage?

Hey Is the black screen like a 1-2sec black full screen and then it goes back to normal? That's what happens to me

 

I sometimes get this. Annoying. I just refresh the page normally. No idea why it happens..

 

Here's the scenario: I'm playing Runescape, slaying, dunging, w/e. I can be doing anything at all with no lag, then BOOM, black screen. I can wait 10 minutes or 10 hours, it stays black. I have to go to homepage and reload rs. It's bullshit.

 

I always have to reload! anyone care to explain???

 

As said, it's due to java crashing, A.k.A it stops running. The only soloution is to either close your runescape client or close your internet browser.

If your too lazy to close your browser simply go back to the home page, then press CTRL + ALT + DELETE
- Goto "processes"
- Click "Mem Usage" twice so the apps using the most memory will appear at the top
- end "javaw.exe"
- go back to the runescape log in page

and your done =]

P.s clients = ********* closing this will close your client

Or it's vice versa and ********* is on thebrowser and javaw.exe is the client >.>

What on earth are you talking about?
Just because Java has crashed doesn't mean you need to format your whole PC

 

It's just java could be ur slow pc or slow internet

i sometimes get a white screen i got it once at bandos in duo luckily my friend got my stuff back it always happens in google chrome i don't know why i redownloaded java and so far haven't had problems but i'll post back if i do

i would think that most people use swiftkit by now, when i get a black screen i just go back to the homepage and reload, no need to close out entirely.

 

Try updating Java in the first place?

I used to get it as well. Though, when I switched browsers (firefox to chrome) I stopped getting it.

It happens when I switch windows, but clicking back into RS always fixes it for me... If I run RS in the Windows client it doesnt do it.

 

If you switch windows during the loading screen, this usually happens. Sometimes it'll fix itself if you let it be for a few seconds, but, if it doesn't than just refresh your page.

Or, maybe it's just because your java is outdated...try getting that checked out?
