I wouldn't even spin your own bowstring. Just buy it and fletch your own bows with the logs you cut. You won't be making anything, but you won't be losing anything either.

 

depends on your cash, Fletch yew longs (u) then selling them loses money but is faster, you could also use clay knifes for double exp
