question

i was wondering i downloaded a rat but didn't run it found out it was a rat after uploading it to virustotal. I'm just wondering if I could still get ratd without running the file.

If you didn't open the file, you shouldn't have anything wrong.
However, should be safe and run a scan anyway.

 

well my malwarebytes has been horrible lately and hasn't detected anything I've had to keep useing virus total to scan a file

 

update your antivirus, or get a new one.
The internet is full of virus, being protected is a must

 

well it auto updates every day
