It's bigger than it needs to be, it's choppy, low quality and the positioning doesn't do it justice. Use different unique fonts and look up tutorials.
Hmm if you're interested in producing quality 3D text, I would advise obtaining Cinema4D. Photoshops 3D options are limited and usually have a low quality look to them. Cinema4D was designed for 3D modelling and provides a vast number of options to enhance your 3D designs. Once the text is made you can open it in photoshop to add adjustments, effects, sub text, anything you need.
I think you need to change around your 'save to web' settings so its less choppy. Id try that first but no promises tbh. Zippy, if you know how he would fix that plz post.
I assume you're working with the 3D options cs6 has to offer. Select the pixels of the text layer then go to the 3D tab at the top and select "New 3D extrution from selected layer". Once you click that a pop up will ask you to change over to a 3D workspace, hit ok. Now go to view in the top and scroll down to show, and make sure all 3D options are on. Add appropriate lighting and shadow. Now for the render options, go to edit> preferences> 3D. Did you change up the settings at all before you rendered?
If you have cs6 I suggest you try it the way I explained, It produces nice simple 3D text. If you want to improve your piece smooth-en out the bevel and emboss around your text. It will be easier to smooth-en out if you change the perspective of your text to straight on. On another note the lava look to the text looks low quality, try making the text one solid color, or a smooth gradient. Most people torrent the program but I can't discuss that, here's a 40 day trail http://www.maxon.net/en/products/de...m/demoform-nl-add/choose/cinema-4d-demos.html
Thank you Zippy. Also, DOM, just keep posting progress. From the first post i've seen of yours to now it's good progress, I was even worse at one point. If graphics interest you, you will be a great graphic designer with time.
Fuckin A I love all of these tom green edits. I am so glad that my tradition of the tom green avatar has been passed down through the ages. <3
