probably a nub question

Well, recently a friend told me that if you are banned for botting on an account, any of your other accounts that were not being botted on would also be banned.. I was under the impression that it was not the case, but is it?

 

No. How would Jagex know if you have different accounts? But no, your other acc's wont get banned

 

Um, they can tell with something called a "IP ADDRESS".

It IS possible for your other accounts to get banned if you commit serious enough offenses.

 

Nope, they don't know if say, your sibling might own the other account and he/she might not have broken any rules.
Although I presume they will monitor your IP and accounts logged on from there more if you've been banned for autoing.

 

They don't accept that as an excuse (siblings).

 

Really? then thats stupid, I bot, and my brother plays RS. I wouldn't want him to get banned. (even though I botted him 75 mining..hehe).
still if theres no evidence for an account botting they should not get banned.

 

Jagex only bans the account that you botted on.

 

As far as I know you only ever get banned on the account you were botting on. Jagex only I.P. bans on much more serious offences.

 

Only the account that was botted on, however they may flag/ban your ip address.

Usually, the offense has to do with a serious enough offense that could possibly draw the attention of local authorities. They try to do as much as they can with banning accounts, but only has to go to IP Address orientation on dire offenses.
