    Pointless processes in bots?

    Hey guys!

Before I start, I'm no expert and whatever, so don't judge if the answer is obvious.

Just have a quick question. Most, if not all bot's claim to use "human-like" mouse movements and "human-like" movement, etc. But is this really necessary?

Like, to me, it seems extremely unlikely that Jagex is storing all the (x,y) values of the mouse and then checking them for "non-human(?)" movements of every player in Runescape.
Something like checking only players who have been reported or something like that makes more sense to me, but how would you check such a thing, especially when every plays different?

Can people please share what they know/think about this?

    Thanks,
    ~Xhulic

Well why not be more human-like if you can? Better safe than sorry.

On Simba you can increase the mouse speed as much as you want if you want it to be faster.

    Validity of my statement:

I assume they have software that checks mouse movement. In fact, I think Simba discourages use of certain mouse functions because they always move the mouse in a straight line, which certainly means one is 'botting'.

I know reports factor in to whether or not one gets banned, but lots of people were banned for botting Dungeoneering and more specifically -- the gatestone bots; the latter was getting accounts banned within an hour of starting the bot with no one around to report the accounts.

If not Jagex, other players notice non human like movements which leads to reports on you. Reports lead to ban.

Players can't see other palaver's mouse movements!
but reports are a big time lead to a ban for sure.

I think he means when the bot is very jerky and uses the same route all the time. Like when you don't use fflag in simba

    No this is exactly right!

Now I understand that moving the mouse in a spline isn't that hard to implement at all, therefore really my question really doesn't matter.
But for arguments sake! Really, no one can see your mouse movements, and like I said before, I honestly doubt Jagex is recording hundreds of thousands of players mouse movements... So the whole, "human-like" still seems absolutely senseless.

Furthermore, I am sure there would be a few more client side processes that for the same reasons, would be pointless.

This is an example of above, and will help explain what I'm trying to say, to me, this would'nt matter.

EG: The bot needs to click point (100,100) then point (250,500).
*If what I said in my theory, that mouse movements are not recorded, all of the above methods would have the same ammount of anti-ban.

Think about it, what a waste of money on space and what ever else, if they have to record the mouse co-ordinates and at what speed they travel, for several hundred thousand players at any single time.

For instance: If they were simply recording the data to an array, the index would far exceed 1 million in just a minute on just average game play. For just one player!

Now obviously, the bot would have to seem human like on server side, eg not clicking the same point, same colour etc.

Tell me what you guys think :)

Jagex can and do record anything they want. So, would you really want to skip a few calculations to save minimal power, or be on the safe side and use human-like mouse movements?
