Phishing E-Mail

Got this in my email.. I would like to know how they got my email address.



Needless to say, don't click on the link. I manually navigated to the real RS site and logged in to check my offences, which were clean, unsurprisingly.

 

lol i got about 15 of these phisher emails and they all cant spell verify correctly. I laugh hard and they always use RWTING instead of real world trading like jagex does. Its really funny how hard they try but can't even write a legit email.

 

If you've posted your email on any Runescape related website I'd say they took it from there. Otherwise I have no idea.

 

Definitely not posted my e-mail anywhere. I think the only place entered it that's RS related is signing up to this forum, actually. Did someone get their hands on the list of addresses or something?

 

Mate, create an account on runescape.
There will be a message saying; 'Jagex will never ask for your password etc'

 

I've received well over 15 of these Phishing Emails and they must've all been from people on Sythe.

 

Same, on my personal e-mail where I created an account on I never receive e-mails from jagex, lol.

 

I'm pretty sure I get legit emails from Jagex in the form of monthly news letters.

 

I have also been receiving these emails, Just as a matter of fact I got one yesterday, And my accounts still in green zone.

I got that exact same email, and it's my personal email address as well...wonder where they got the email list from :\

 

I noticed getting any message from Jagex/runescape a real message is always labeled "Runescape" any message that has been scam has always been JagexLTD or JagexLtD or jagexLtd so on. I actually switch some account off the email that was getting spammed just to be sure.

 

"Major Real World Trading Offense." ^^ I got the exact same email but didn't even look to it.

 

It's people on this forum who do it, if you ever posted you MSN they will email you. I find every time I make a new thread, buying or selling, I get lots of emails

 

I get roughly 5-10 of those phishing mails per day ;/

 

I get about 1 of these a day. So constant, and the thing is I dont even have a runescape account linked with the email that I provide on sythe

 

They get your email from sites like this.. powerbot etc, they just click your profile or they see you commenting on posts.

 

lol i was an idiot didnt read about them say the title Jagex and lost 165 mil
