Pc In Display Mode?

Guys i just got a laptop for my d day i was slightly expecting a mac (i wanted to use it in display mode on my tv for biger screen) but its not a mac

so this is a question for ppl who luv mac and pc's

is there and where can i get software that allowes me to close my laptop and still use it with a monitor plugged in rather than it shuting off?

any help ty in advance

 

I have a mac. On one right now... They are awesome. To answer your question I never heard of that before. I don't really see the point though, but anyway. If I see something I'll let you know

 

Ok thanx, its basicaly for small space i.e if you monitor is on desk top and thers no room to put you'r laptop (because your using your laptop as a tower) then u coul simply close your mac put it on the keyboard shelf and push it under the desk.
