Paypal help

So I've got an old account somewhere which has my bank account registered to it, that account has a chargeback amount of about £20 leaving it in negative credit, it was one of my old accounts where I sold something as a one-off and never bothered to touch it again and at some point person charged the money back and I naturally didn't respond within 3 days.

I've ignored it for a while and simply spent my money whilst it's in my new main paypal ([email protected]) or sent it to a family member and had them put it in their bank then transfer it to mine. But I grow weary of doing this and have decided to just pay off the negative balance and add my bank account to my current PP. Problem is I have so many fucking e-mail addresses at this point and I've checked all of them since I used them as "mules" as I don't want to ever be chargebacked again (I usually take the money on those and then send it to TMU so if I fight a chargeback against some retard and lose it's not a problem although funnily never had the problem since), none of them are in minus credit, and I can't take the bank account onto my new paypal until I find it and pay that money off. Is there any way I can recover a PP username with just the bank details registered to it? Really need to get this done. At this stage I'm on the verge of opening an account with NatWest or something just for the purpose of transferring paypal funds to an account where I can withdraw from an ATM.

Call PayPal and they'll ask for your routing number, they can associate an email with the number.

When you open a bank account you're given a dummy check with your account and routing number located at the bottom.

 

Uh we definitely don't have anything like that lol. We just get a book and a card and are sent on our way.

 

You can try calling PayPal with just your account number, otherwise you must call your bank and ask for your 'International bank routing number'.

 

Possibly the latter. People on here do wire transfers and whatnot all the time, anyone could call paypal up with my name, sort code and account number. In fact that's asking for my paypal to get locked and then I'd have to send in ID for them to return it. The password 100% I'll know, the username is the problem. I didn't even know I had a routing number.

 

Go on Paypal and see what information they require to add a bank account. Find that information on your account(the same information Paypal already has) and call them. There's no open search feature as that would be open to abuse.

 

What they require to add the bank account is nothing - only thing that's maybe out of the place is registered address & bank location (basically every bank has diff branches but you're usually assigned to the one you open it at unless you move it), to verify it however they put a small deposit of a few pence in and you basically have to tell them what was put in.

 

Every bank account has a routing number, no one knows this number except you. I would call your bank and retrieve it. It's the best option to getting them to close the account.
