Overload or Turmoil?

Which would you say is better?

I personally say Overload beats turmoil, simply because of the brew effect. Can go solo 15, 20, 30+ bandos kills with overload, with only turmoil it's like 5?


inb4 people say Turmoil + Overload is better *claps* well done! But that's not what this thread is about!

 

You can pk with turmoil but you can't pk with overloads.

Imo Turmoil + extremes > overloads

This is a hard decision.
It depends on what you like to do; PvM or PvP?
If you'd like to PvM, I would say get overloads, it makes you last longer etc.
Overload is 1 spot while Turmoil is 8 spots considered you need prayer potions or super restore potions.
Overload boosts everything to level 125 for 5 minutes.
Turmoil gives you a strength bonus of 23% + 10% of enemy's level and an attack and defence bonus of 15% and 15% of enemy's level.
That means it will make your strength, defence and attack somewhere around level ~130.
One potion has 4 doses, 6 if it's a flask.
1 overload flask makes you last ~30 minutes, while 8 prayer potions do the same AND take 7 more inventory space.
Turmoil makes your kill faster, but you can stay way much longer with overloads.
So if you're gonna PvM, get overloads first.
But in case you want to PvP, which I assume you don't since overloads don't even work in PvP.
Turmoil would be the way to go, since overloads are just useless in PvP
Here is the real question; Do I want to PvM, OR do I want to PvP.
If you know the answer on that question, you will also know the answer on the question 'Overload or Turmoil?'.

I would have to go with overloads purely because of the factor that Im all PvM not PvP.

 

Turmoil first, coz when you get it you get Soulsplit too.. both are helpful when you're bossing or slaying (slaying mostly). + soulsplit will be your best friend when you go for that 99 slayer

Turmoil is a one time thing, once u have it, u can use it forever. But overloads isnt, u have to make them to be able to use them and they arent cheap to make

 

this is the way to go. a person could afford turmoil and extremes for about the same price if not less than the price of overloads granted you have a decent prayer to begin with .

 

Turmoil is DEFINITELY better. Why? Because Turmoil comes with Soul Split by default. You can't heal with OVLs.

I had to make this decision when my old main was banned and I made a new account.

I got 99 herblore first, bad decision.

Don't get me wrong it's awesome now that i'm working on 95 prayer (got it banked) but I wish I had done it the other way around.

I knew someone would make this mistake.
Overloads are better (for PvM ofcourse).
You can heal with soulsplt but you can't with overloads; True.
But soulsplit takes prayer potions.
This prayer potions could be swapped with sara brews, which make you last much longer.
I hope you understand what I mean to say

 

Loads of good points, i think it all goes on if you prefer PvP or PvM, overloads for PvM, Turmoil for PvP

 

Turmoil is better, but overloads stack nicely with brews, and herblore is cheap as crap these days.... seriously just get a herb cleaning bot and you can get 96 herb for a small loss/no loss. So if you have like 100m to spare, get turmoil. But if you aren't as rich overloads are the better choice.

Your logic throughout this thread is very skewed. If your using overloads for pvm then you are most likely facing a boss that requires protection prayers/piety. So you will need those prayer potions. Also even if training and using extremes you might as well spend money to get prayer potions to use piety or turmoil.

You keep saying that overloads will save you inventory space which it does from the fact that you dont need super/extreme att stre def or range/mage depending on what your doing. But you will still need prayer potions for most serious pvm(bosses)

 

I'd go with Turmoil because you can use it anywhere but if its overloads you can do the same but not use in PKing.

 

Hmm i still think OVL are better, PvM is a bigger community instead of PvP with slayer and bosses, and OVL is better than turm for PvM
